Mattituck-Cutchogue PTA

President's letter-Meeting schedule

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  I am thrilled and honored to serve as president of the Mattituck-Cutchogue Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA).  We have an outstanding group of parents this year serving as our PTA officers, committee chairpersons, and volunteers.  Officers include: vice president, Natalie Conroy; treasurer, Lisa Bunker; and secretary, Jeanine Warns.  The National PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, working to provide a powerful voice for every child and resources to enrich and enhance the educational experience of our youth. http://pta.org/

Our district is very fortunate to have talented and professional teachers, dedicated parents, a supportive community, and of course, amazing children!  The Mattituck-Cutchogue Elementary PTA is comprised of parents, teachers, school administrators, and community members who work collaboratively to provide programs, events, and educational materials that strengthen our children’s learning experiences.  Some of the numerous programs sponsored by our PTA include: the book fair, science fair, kindergarten orientation, student socials, 6th grade graduation, student assemblies, theater programs, and scholarships for students in need.  In addition, the PTA supplies educational materials and equipment for the classrooms through our mini-grant program.  The PTA heads up the Box Tops for Education and the Labels for Education (Campbells Soup labels) Fundraisers as well as our annual Prestige Wrapping Paper Fundraiser and our new Outdoor Family Movie Night Fundraiser at Strawberry Fields.  All of the items donated to the school by the PTA are not funded through the school budget and, therefore, would not be possible without the generosity and volunteerism of our members and sponsors.

The PTA is only as strong as its members.  We encourage you to join our wonderful organization.  The annual membership fee is $7.00 for an individual or teacher membership, and $12.00 for a family membership (two adults).  Membership forms are available on our website and can be mailed into the address listed on the form: Mattituck-Cutchogue Elementary PTA, P.O. Box 1571, Mattituck, NY 11952.  All donations are tax deductible.  With the support of our parents, teachers, faculty, and community members, our organization can make a big difference in the educational experiences of our children.

Please join us for our PTA meetings, which will be held in the evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Cutchogue East Elementary School Library.  PTA meeting dates will be posted on our website, our bulletin board in the school, and a flyer will be sent home with your child.  If you cannot make any of our meetings but would still like to be involved with our organization, please contact us at mcpta@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your dedication and support to the Mattituck-Cutchogue Elementary PTA.  We look forward to see you at our upcoming meetings and events!

Sincerely,

Amy Demchak-Connell

President
